Set a Schedule
Get a better handle on all your tasks by creating a strict schedule for yourself. Create them as SMART Goals. Be Specific, make sure you can Measure it, make sure it is Achievable, what are your Resources or who is Responsible and the Time it needs to be finished. When you finish on time celebrate the success. Assigning deadlines to various tasks will help keep you motivated by allowing you to see the finish line. It’s difficult when you’re working on multiple projects to find the motivation to complete them when you have all the time in the world. Deadlines will help you stay on task because you’ll know that you’ll need to complete certain projects by a specific date and time.
Take a Break
It’s possible that you’re wearing too many hats at the moment. Never underestimate the power of taking a break. It can actually energize you and revitalize your passion for the work that you do. Taking a break doesn’t mean going on vacation. It could mean just reserving a moment each day to step away from your work. Have a long lunch, take a nap, take a walk, or meditate. That time will help clear your mind and slow down your thoughts when you become overwhelmed with all your responsibilities.
Be Gentle with Yourself
If you are guilty of being your own biggest critic, take a moment and try to do the opposite. Reward yourself for all the work that you’ve done and how far you’ve gotten in your career. Don’t be too harsh on yourself when it comes to missteps, accounts you didn’t secure, or sales you didn’t make. There will always be another opportunity to do those things. In addition, you’ll feel more motivated to take those lessons learned and apply them to your business to work toward continued success.
Rely more on your employees and business partners. Trust that you’ve surrounded yourself with capable people and people who you trust to complete the tasks that you’ve assigned to them. Asking for help does require humility, but it will be worth it for the amount of time and stress that you will save yourself.
